PAIR OF SCRIMSHAW AND LIGHTLY POLYCHROMED WHALE TEETH, circa 1860, a matched pair on stand. The first depicts a maiden wearing a red hat, the reverse engraved with a three-mast Man-O-War with pale script “Tooth of a Sperm Whale.” The other engraved with a young girl strolling wearing a plaid shawl, the reverse with the same young girl skipping rope and wearing a plaid sash.
