Pair of Whaleman Scrimshawed and Polychrome Whale Teeth, circa 1880, the first decorated with a portside portrait of a 4-masted schooner with brown sails and black hull on green water, the top with a star and Federal shield flanked by American Flags; the reverse with a star above a spread winged eagle. The second tooth engraved with a portside portrait of a 3-mast bark flying the American flag, black hull on green water, the top is a faint engraved heart with crossed anchors and laurel branches; the reverse with an eagle landing on a northern sphere.
Height 4 ½ in. Width 2 ¾ in.
Two Carved Whalebone Implements, circa 1860-1880, the first a snuff knife with a carved hand and engraved Masonic symbols and clasping hands; the second a hygiene too which is hatch carved concealing 2 blades.
