Postmarked New York, and likely from the period of 1789-1793. Letter addressed to Samuel R Gerry, Collector for Post of Marblehead Massachusetts. Gerry was the brother of Eldridge Gerry, signer of the Declaration of Independence, and who would later serve as Vice President of the United States under James Madison.
