Massachusetts Bow-back Windsor Chair, circa 1805-1810, nine spindles, saddle seat, bamboo-turned uprights and H-stretchered legs. Underneath branded “Reuben Sanborn Boston” and indistinctly inscribed in pencil with dedication “Louise Hurrell from Anna Reuben.” Note: Reuben Sanborn (also Sanburn) recorded as a Windsor chair maker in Lendell’s Row (1796); shop in Leverett’s (or Quaker’s) Lane (1798) and shop on Doane’s Wharf (1800).
