Charles Wehringer is known listed New York painter who paints everyday products in miniature and incorporates his folk art into his pop art pieces.Charles Wehringer’s artistic talent was discovered early in life, in Oyster Bay, New York. Although mostly self-taught, he attended the Art Students’ League of New York.He likes to paint on wood, like the old masters. His colorful paintings of farm scenes and fruit and vegetables still lifes are largelyinspired by childhood memories. Painted in a realistic primitive style, they have been exhibited and sold at the Museums of American Folk Art and at leading stores, including: Bergdorf Goodman, Bloomingdale’s, Lord and Taylor, W. & J. Sloane and Abercrombie and Fitch. Wehringer paintings have been in miniature room settings for Cartier’s Fifth Avenue windows. They were featured by WCBS-TV News in April 1982. He has been represenred by the James Hunt Barker Galleries on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach, Florida. He is listed in Who’s Who in American Interior Design.
