Born in Lithuania, educated in Riga, Latvia and Yugoslavia, he traveled widely in Central Europe during the years of WWII turmoil. During this time he painted everything from a portrait of King Alexander of Yugoslavia to movie posters and advertisements. Cherepov has exhibited at numerous venues including Allied Artists America New York, NY, Academy Artists Association Springfield, Massachusetts, Southern Vermont Art Center Manchester, Grand Central Art Galleries New York and Hudson Valley Art Association. He has won Best in Show First Award, Allied Artists America 1968, Gold Medal, Hudson Valley Art Association 1969, Medal of Honor, Kent Art Association Connecticut, 1971. He was a member of Grand Central Art Galleries, Allied Artists of America, American Artists Professional League, the Southern Vermont Art Association, and the Hudson Valley Art Association.
