Julie Hart Beers (Massachusetts 1835-1913) “Rocky River Landscape” oil on canvas, signed and dated lower left Hart Beers Kempson, 1881. 17 in. x 11 in. Born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, she moved to New York City in the mid-1850’s. Her studio was in the Dodworth’s Building on Broadway. She exhibited with the National Academy of Design and at the Boston Athenaeum.
