Dutch Polychrome Carving of a Bawdy Woman Rudder Head, circa 1820, very finely carved risqué woman wearing an iron earring in each earlobe, black wavy hair to her shoulders, large pearl-like necklace, and large exposed breasts. She is wearing a black top hat with upswept rim with gilded feathers flanking each side of the hat. The rudder head retains its old in-service paint with scattered paint loss, with some original gilt decoration remaining. Given the small size, it is likely that it came from a private yacht.
Height 28 in., Width 11 in. Depth 16 in.
