Very Fine Whale Ivory and Whalebone, Abalone and Silver Swift, circa 1840, a solid whale ivory barrel table clamp with abalone staves and silver trim having a well defined clenched fist holding a rod screw knob and abalone inlaid heart on back of hand, matching smaller screw knob cage support; the support ring trimmed with silver and diamond abalone inlays, matching the cup finial. The 26 stave whalebone cage having reeded exterior ribs with silver pins and original red ribbon, a unique rope carved whalebone central shaft.
