James Walter Folger (Nantucket 1851-1918) Carved and Polychromed Plaque, circa 1911, Portrait of the Swain Home, built ca. 1672, in weathered condition, out Polpis way. Half-depth of carving showing exposed construction timbers, shingles, interior chimney bricks, window, doors, etc. Signed with brush and carved “James W. Folger 1901 and 1911”, with original artist printed paper label on reverse “James W. Folger – Artistic Wood Carving – Paintings of Nantucket Scenery.”
