Dahl an artist known for his Scandinavian landscapes.
He was inspired by the master painter Th. Lyndbye and followed his national landscape tradition. Dahl a mostly self-taught artist is known for his bright cool colors and romantic portray of Danish nature. Dahl traveled Germany and Northern Italy from 1905 to 1908 and in Paris from 1922-1926, receiving numerous art prizes and awards, among them Ronge in 1920; Kraft in 1920; Raben-Levetzau in 1921; Bilken in 1921 – Academy Award in 1921 and 1926 – Eckersberg Medallion in 1921; – The National Art Foundation in 1968-70. Exhibitions: Charlottenborg 1918-1942; Danish Art Forum, 1929. Solo Exhibitions in 1923, 1930 and 1932.
