Bareford pursued his education in fine art at Wheaton College and at the University of Montana. He is known both for his watercolor and oil paintings. Embracing the principles of Impressionism he concentrates on the movement of light and its effects on a subject, striving to evoke an atmosphere of action and vitality in his work. Bareford is a member of the Copley Society of Boston, the American Society of Marine Artists and the Allied Artists of America among others. His work can be found in many private and corporate collections in the US and abroad including the Sears Collection, the World Trade Corporation, and the Otis Elevator Company.
