Brodie & Middleton Compendium of Artists’ Colors, late 19th century, in original hinged mahogany case bearing the firm’s printed label and fitted with lift-out compartmented trays containing an array of pigments in cork-stoppered glass vials; white-glazed ceramic color chart, mixing tray, and covered circular box; mahogany palette, two stoppered glass pots, bottle of turpentine, etc.
