As a child in Ohio, Rowenna Anderson was surrounded by a family of painters and craftsmen, which inspired her to develop a deep devotion to the arts at an early age. To that end, Rowenna holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from Ball State University, Indiana.

Influenced by the impressionists, yet dedicated to her own unique approach to form, Rowenna’s oils combine sensitivity and serene compositions with simply-stated themes. For many years, she resided on the Island of Nantucket, and now her scenes often depict Nantucket, recurring as a favorite backdrop. Rowenna works with a limited palette and uses color to reflect light and atmosphere.
