Bernard M. Keyes (Massachusetts 1898-1973) Oil on Canvas “Ducks at Daybreak“, a flock of eight ducks flying over a marsh, signed lower right B.M. Keyes. Bernard Keyes studied at the Boston Museum School of Fine Arts and Harvard University’s Fogg Art Museum School. At the Fogg, Keyes was awarded the Paige traveling scholarship for 1921-1922. Upon his return to the States, Keyes took up a teaching position at the MFA, and shifted his style from figurative Impressionism to sporting images. Keyes works are in numerous New England collections including the Fogg Art Museum, Cambridge, MA; Mt. Holyoke College, South Hadley, MA; the Holyoke Library, MA; Tufts University, Medford, MA; and Brown University, Providence, RI.
