Large Scrimshaw and Polychrome Sperm Whale Tooth, first half of the 19th Century, 8 ¼ in., depicting the 1798 whale ship Albion in a rogue wave. The Albion was a full-rigged whaler built at Deptford, England, and launched in 1798. She made five whaling voyages to the seas around New South Wales and New Zealand; the reverse with a full portrait of a lady with shawl and veil. 2.1 lbs
