The Captains discussing their upcoming voyage on the ship Dashing Wave to Hong Kong, Canton and Calcutta, departing Derby Wharf May 4 1841. Several active American ships visible in the distant harbor. All framed within a scrimshaw and titled banner border “American Seamen’s Friend Society.” Signed lower right R. Cahoon PINXT, in black molded wood frame.
