Large Scrimshaw Sperm Whale Tooth, 1st Quarter of the 19th Century, a British ship engaged in a battle with another ship with billowing smoke; the reverse depicts a ship coming over a large swell with sails furled, initialed “L.R, and “IIA”, an eyelet and dart band surround the base of the tooth.
