British Woolie “Embroidered Portrait of the R.M.S. (Royal Mail Ship) Arawa”, circa 1884-1890, wool and canvas, including a rose, shamrock and thistle with a crown on top representing the British Isles; she was a refrigerated passenger vessel under both steam and sail power, the ship was built in 1884 of steel construction by Denny of Dumbarton and owned by Shaw, Saville & Albion Co., Ltd., maple frame with gilt liner.
