Eleanor was classically trained at the Chicago Art Institute and the Art Students League in New York, and she paints still lifes reminiscent of works by the Old Dutch Masters with great emphasis on color, shapes and atmosphere. Her still life subjects often includes ceramic vases, Oriental antiques, and copper and brass pots as well as textiles and rugs, all combined in a setting with fruit, vegetables or flowers. Using a technique known as chiaroscuro, she creates in her painting the prinicipal forms rendered through a balanced contrast between light and dark areas, thus creating an illustion of depth and space. Moore has exhibited with Knickerbocker Artists, the American Artists Professional League, Allied Artists of America, Hudson Valley Art Association and the Artists of America Show.
