Edward Cole New Bedford Cast Steel and Wrought Iron Toggle Whaling Harpoon, circa 1860, cast steel toggle head, iron shaft continuing to expansion socket, toggle marked Cole,  with dot markings LB denoting larboard boat and AH signifying the whaleship Andrew Hicks. The Andrew Hicks was launched in 1867 in Westport, Massachusetts, full length original hand hewn wooden shaft.
