Alan J. Eddy (b.1940)

Alan J. Eddy was born in South Boston and studied at Boston's Vesper George School of Art. Raised in a seafaring family Eddy sailed Boston Harbor as a young man with his father and uncle. This experience, in addition to his knowledge of New England Maritime history, has given the artist a vivid understanding sailing ships and the sea which inspire and inform the historical yachting scenes and boat portraits for which he is best known.

Eddy’s works can be found in both private and corporate collections including Sears and Roebuck, Fleet Bank of Boston, the Boston Harbor Hotel and the Scudder and Vanguard Investment Companies.
