William P. Duffy (American b. 1948)

William P. Duffy was born in Boston in 1948. He received his art education at the School of the Worcester Art Museum/Clark University and the Boston Architectural Center. According to the artist his style is based on a three-level philosophy attempting to create an aesthetically pleasing picture, capture a sense of place that transports the viewer while also expressing a spiritual mood that stirs the soul.

The beauty and quality of Duffy’s work has been widely recognized. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Marine Artists, the New England Plein Air Painters, the Copley Society and Oil Painters of America. His work is included in private collections throughout the United States and beyond and is the recipient of many awards including several Awards of Excellence from the Oil Painters of America and the Annual International Marine Art Exhibition at the Mystic Seaport Museum.
